This word (from the Latin divus, meaning "divine" or "related to God") refers to the process of becoming likeGod. "Divinization" is a theologically acceptable term if it is understood to mean that a human person can come closer to God through the interior working of divine grace; the term is theologically unacceptable if it is understood to mean that a person becomes a deity.
